Typically, multiple techniques are used to create a personalized and individual treatment based on the client's goal and preferences.

Swedish Massage

While not usually enough pressure to alleviate chronic pain, Swedish techniques can alleviate the many negative effects of stress, including insomnia, headaches, tension, chronic illness, and the work can promote hormone balance and immune system health. Regular Swedish massage treatments can greatly improve the function of the body's circulatory, digestive, endocrine, integumentary, and nervous systems. Recommended for first time massage clients those whose primary goal is relaxation. Often a good option for fibromyalgia patients or patients undergoing cancer treatments, such as radiation and chemotherapy, that may be unable to endure firm pressure. 

Deep Tissue Massage

Uses many Swedish techniques, but slower and with more pressure to reach and align the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Recommended for people experiencing chronic pain and discomfort, especially neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, and hip and low back pain. A certain level of discomfort is to be expected, but the client should keep an open channel of communication throughout the massage to maintain a comfortable threshold. Soreness after the massage can last up to a few days and is normal. Staying hydrated before and after the treatment helps, as does receiving regular massage treatments.

Sports Therapy

Is unique to the needs of the athlete depending on the sport, but all athletes can benefit from including massage therapy into their workout regimen. Massage helps to release the lactic acid build up which causes muscle soreness, helps to prevent injury by keeping overused muscles from getting too tight and rigid, breaks up scar tissues formed during repetitive use, improves range of motion, increases mitochondria production by up to 30%, and improves mental performance.

Aromatherapy Massage

Adding essential oils to any massage modality will improve the experience. Essential oils can be added to the massage oil or lotion or diffused in the treatment room to help with a host of mental, emotional, and physical issues including stress, skin issues such as blemishes or burns, mental issues such as concentrating and focusing, insomnia, blood pressure issues, headaches, and immune system health, to name a few of the many benefits.

Pregnancy Massage

Should not be administered during the first trimester of pregnancy. For women in their second and third trimesters, massage can work wonders for alleviating stress brought about by pregnancy, both muscular and otherwise. The best position is side lying, propped by pillows and cushions to eliminate muscle stress during the massage. 

Craniosacral Therapy

With a light touch, the CST practitioner uses their hands to evaluate the craniosacral system, by gently feeling various locations of the body to test for the ease of motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing around the brain and spinal cord. Soft-touch techniques are then used to release restrictions in any tissues influencing the craniosacral system. More information can be found here.

Trigger-Point Therapy

Also known as neuromuscular or NMT; trigger point therapy relies on the compression of trigger points to release hypertonic muscle tissue. Recommended for people who are in the process of rehabilitation from injury and/or surgery, who are experiencing chronic pain. Some discomfort is to be expected, but communicating with the therapist will alleviate any unneccesary discomfort.

Conscious Transformation Energy Session (CETS)

"Energy Practices are a unique form of energy work developed by Joey Klein. Blending ancient healing practices from Asia, India and Europe with energy physiology, this modality is designed to create a state of profound well-being by integrating mind, body, emotion and spirit."

The session is 60 minutes long, 45 minutes on the table, 15 minutes to check in before the session and integrate afterward. Please wear comfortable clothing. You can expect to be lying on your back for the duration, with pillows and blankets for your comfort. Every experience is different, but most clients report feeling a deep and lasting sense of peace and clarity. Multiple sessions are highly recommended to see what can be possible for you as an individual.
